Wehrpass to Franz Schmiedl, member of the Panzer Regiment 29, as part of the 12. Panzer Division. Schmiedl, previously active the the Panzer Pionier Battalion 32 was transfered to Panzer Regiment 29 on 11.4.42. For his service on the eastern front he was awarded wth the Ostfront medal (1.8.42). During the retreat of the Eastern front Schmiedl was wounded and received the wound badge in black (Pleskau area). A few months later the Division was stuck in the Kurland pocket, Schmidl was awarded here with the EK2 and was killed in action only two days later.

The Wehrpass is nice and complete and comes with civil photo of Schmidl. Some extra documents come with it.

A good but tragic Kurland Panzer Wehrpass.
