Close combat clasp grouping to  Johann Scheuk, member of the Grenadier Regiment 217 that was part of the 57. Infantarie Division. This Division saw action in the Charkov area and afterward early 1944 in Tscherkassy, Debica and Mogilew. After this the unit narrowed down in both soldiers and equipment, it was then dissembled. Scheuk was a slightly older man who only entered military service in 1943. He proved himself to be an excellent front soldier, immediately earning him the close combat clasp in bronze and infantry assault badge at the same time! These were both awarded in the hospital of Stephansfeld (Germany) after he was wounded by a bullet in the upper leg. In february '45 Scheuk was also awarded the wound badge in black and received his first promotion to Gefreiter in March. He was then part of the Grenadier Ersatz Battalion 199 that was still attached to the 57. ID. Unsure of the position they were at that time it was most likely in East Prussia.

The group contains:

-Soldbuch of Scheuk

-Award document to the close combat clasp in bronze

-Detailed document with assault days to the infantry assault badge in silver (5-7-8.1.1944 for combat in Tscherkassy)

-Award document to the infantry assault badge in silver

-Congratulation letter by the Kompanie Chef of the Genesenden Kompanie who was in Lenggries, Germany.

The documents awarded to him in the hospital ar still stapled together. The soldbuch remains in very good condition with all pages intact. Photo is missing.

A great untouched combat soldbuch with extra documents!
