Wehrpass (Zweitschrift) to Oberwachtmeister Helmut Böhler, member of the Stab Schwere Flakabteilung 492. This Abteilung was part o fthe 21. Flak-Division mainly based around Manheim for the homeland defence again allied bombings. Coming from the older Flak Regiment 49 in 1938, awarded with the DRL sport badge and capable of speaking French and English, Böhler had a lot of potential of becoming an officer. He quickly climbed up from gefreiter to NCO and then in the beginning of 1945 finally as Oberwachtmeister. As staff member he was awarded with the War Merit ross 2nd class and earlier with the Westwall medal for his RAD service. Böhler also participated in action in 1945 during the defence against massive air raids in the area Frankfurt München. His WP states 160 days of enemy fire! In March Böhler became part of a smaller kampfgruppe and took part in ground assaults against the allied invasion front in the West around the Rhine. ("Erdeinsatz" in the wehrpass") in the area Manheim Lüdwigshafen, Heidelberg and Wiesloch. For these assaults he received the iron cross 2nd class by the 13. motorised Flak Division on 18.4.45!!
