Wehrpass to H. Staack. Staack was born in 1918 and proved to be a smart and sportive man. After the volkschule he took English school and was a swimmer on top of it. After his RAD service he entered the Luftwaffe flight school In Schleswig and was soon training as a sea pilot. In 1940 he was active in the invasion of Norway, and as the wehrpass says "landing and capturing of the Norwegian coast Narvik to Oslo". Then two other battle entries around the Narvik area are nicely written in. Unfortunately Staack never received the Narvik shield. After the invasion of Norway he remained there and focussed on the battle against Britain. After this Staack was transfered to the wettererkundungsstaffel and finally to the nachtschlachtgruppe 8 at the end of the war where he was probably also given a administrational function. He Staack made it up to Stabsgefreiter and was awarded the war merrit cross 2nd class on 4.6.1944. After the war Staack moved to the Chicago in the USA and this is also where he remained for the rest of his live.

The group consists of his wehrpass, his bundesrepublik travel pass and some family photos from after the war. Also nice political portrait, probably his father or brother.

An interesting group which could use some more research.
